Italy continued their excellent run under Roberto Mancini, defeating Belgium 2-1 to progress to the semifinals of the UEFA Euro 2020. Italy took the lead in the 31st minute, with Italy taking advantage of some poor defending by Belgium with Marco Verratti setting up Nicolo Barella for the opener. They doubled their lead in the 44th minute, with Lorenzo Insigne scoring an absolute beauty as he cut inside from the left-wing and onto his right foot and unleashed a superb curling strike into the top corner. The drama in the first half was not done yet as Belgium were awarded a penalty two minutes later with ROnelu Lukaku scoring.
