England came back from a goal down to defeat Denmark 2-1 in extra time at Wembley Stadium to reach the finals of a major international tournament for the first time in 55 years. Denmark took the lead in the 30th minute, with Mikkel Damsgaard scoring a sensational free-kick to break the deadlock. England managed to level the match nine minutes as Simon Kjaer scored an own goal as he tried to clear a cross put in by Bukayo Saka. The difference came in the 105th minute with Raheem Sterling winning a penalty after Joakim Mæhle fouled him. Harry Kane stepped up to take it, and Kasper Schmeichel saved the initial shot, but Kane managed to score from the rebound to send England into the finals of the UEFA Euro 2020.
