A Murder Is Announced

Dark clouds loom over Chipping Cleghorn Gazette, as someone ends up announcing a murder in the personal column. People begin to wonder if this is some kind of cheap gimmick. To find out the truth behind the matter, all the villagers assemble at Lettie Blacklock's house. But they are left more puzzled than before, when they get to know that the host had not at all placed any adverts in Chipping Cleghorn Gazette. Moreover, Lettie gets attacked then and there. But the man who injures her, is found dead. This leaves everyone in a rude shock. However, when Miss Marple pays a visit to her friend Amy Murgatroyd, the two decide to get to business and dig into the mysterious secrets of Chipping Cleghorn Gazette to find the truth of the matter.
