Ruth Van Rydock, urges Miss Marple to visit the blithely unsuspecting philanthropist, her sister, Carrie-Louise. Carrie-Louise and her third husband Lewis Serrocold run a correctional facility for young men on their estate. Carrie-Louise’s nephew, Christian Gulbrandsen, who forms part of the trust that maintains the correctional facility, gets murdered. Gulbrandsen leaves behind a note.
