Alex Rider, a young teenager, is deeply troubled when Ian, his uncle, is killed mysteriously in a car accident. Alex and his sister, Jack, are Ian's only family. So, Alex decides to find out the truth behind Ian’s murder with the help of his friend, Tom. As both of them trace Ian’s car, Alex discovers a shocking fact that Ian was not the person he claimed to be. In reality, Ian was a spy working for the Department, an offshoot of British Secret Service, under the alias of an investment banker. The main culprit behind Ian’s death is his partner, Martin Wilby, who has a connection with Yassen, an assassin responsible for the murder of two billionaires. Both Wibly and Yassen have links to a mysterious school called Point Blanc, situated in the middle of French Alps. Alan Blunt, the head of the Department, finds Alex Rider’s determination up to the mark and decides to appoint on a mission to infiltrate Point Blanc. However, Alex refuses to join the Department and blames them for Ian’s death. But he soon learns that Jack is confronted by an immigration officer who threatens to deport her based on her fake visa.
