Upon learning about Surinder's younger brother Inder's marriage with Komal, she decided to play spoilsport by first spreading rumors and tried to drive a wedge between the two families. But, when her effort did not yield desired result, she planned to throw acid on Komal so that Surinder's family can't see happiness. Simmi's paramour Balwant Kataria who was also involved in the conspiracy, who threw acid on Komal with the help of other accused, Gautam Khatri and Ranjit.
