Raised in New Delhi, Nirmal Pathak comes back to his roots after 24 long years –a serene and colourful village in Bihar. Eagerly waiting for him to come back, his family believes Nirmal has come back to attend his cousin Aatish’s wedding.
It’s love at first sight for Nirmal in the village. He starts penning down his experiences, but his mother's doubt "Will he not come back" makes him very uncomfortable. Nirmal promises the whole family that he will make everyone speak to his father in the morning.
It was love at first sight for Nirmal but now, the dirty layers of village life start peeling off and stark realities start showing up. He begins to understand why his father Mohan Pathak had left the village 24 years back. 24 years later, Nirmal too arrives at the same situation.
Relations start getting strained for Nirmal in the plight of doing the right thing. Nirmal already had a showdown with his uncle, but now his actions start making Aatish uncomfortable as well.
Nirmal gets so involved in the fight for the right thing that the whole family is scattered now. Was it Netaji or his Uncle or Aatish? Or is it the belief system of society to be blamed?
