After opting to bowl first, England Women reduced India to 29/4 before Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma saved them with their respective fifties. However, the hosts reduced India to a paltry total of 169 as Kate Cross picked up four wickets. Defending a low score, India bowled their heart out and picked up wickets at regular intervals. Amy Jones and Charlotte Dean showed some resistance in the middle and got England closer to the target but failed to cross the finish line as India won the match by 16 runs.
