Sri Lanka defeated West Indies by 187 in the 1st Test at the Galle International Stadium to take lead in the two-match series. Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne led by example, scoring 147 and 83 runs respectively in his two innings to help his team set up a challenging target.
